Overturning The Tables

Writer: Victor BurkhartVictor Burkhart

Matthew 21:12-13: Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there.

He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves.

"It is written," he said to them,

"My house will be called a house of prayer, but you are making it a den of thieves." -

A mystical, cosmic scene depicting an ancient temple or house of prayer filled with radiant, divine light. The temple, designed with tall, classical stone pillars, stands in a celestial landscape, exuding an atmosphere of serenity and spirituality. Brilliant beams of light shine from the temple, cutting through swirling clouds and cosmic dust, casting an ethereal glow over the surroundings. In the foreground, subtle shadows and dark figures suggest a contrast, representing a 'den of robbers,' set against the purity and sanctity of the temple. The scene evokes a sense of divine authority and reverence for the sacred space.

“There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or daughter pass through the fire, or who uses divination, or is a soothsayer, or an augur, or a sorcerer, Or a charmer, or a medium, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord, and it is because of these abominable practices that the Lord your God is driving them out before you. You shall be blameless [and absolutely true] to the Lord your God.”
